Do you feel like anxiety is running your life?

So many of us have been taught to disconnect—from our pain, from our appearance, from the messages our bodies are trying to send.

If you’ve struggled with chronic pain, eating issues, body shame, or feeling “at war” with your physical self, you are not alone. You might be functioning on the outside, but internally feel numb, tense, or hyper-aware of how your body is perceived. Maybe chronic illness has made you feel broken, or you're caught in cycles of control, avoidance, or self-criticism.

Anxiety and panic can stem from real threats or past stress. Sometimes our bodies learn to stay on high alert even when we're safe. Together, we’ll explore unresolved trauma, burnout, sleep issues, or persistent stress. By understanding these root causes, we reduce your body’s need to stay tense and hypervigilant.

We create a safe space to untangle the worries in your mind and the tension in your body.

What This Work Is About

Body image and chronic pain often weave together in quiet, complex ways.

My approach for anxiety is holistic – we’ll address both the thoughts and physical sensations of anxiety. Explore evidence-based somatic therapies for anxiety. I often use mindfulness techniques and somatic exercises to help you reconnect with your body and calm your nervous system. We’ll also practice practical skills (like breathing techniques or grounding exercises) that you can use whenever anxiety spikes. Somatic techniques like grounding and vagus nerve stimulation can help shift your body out of fight-or-flight mode. Learn more about how the nervous system affects anxiety (NIH).

I will meet you with empathy and zero judgment. I know it can be hard to slow down in a fast-paced place like Los Angeles. Together, we’ll help your mind and body unlearn the constant state of alarm. I often incorporate somatic techniques (to help ground you in the present moment and discharge anxious energy) and parts of Internal Family Systems (to work with the anxious “part” of you in a gentle way). Benefits of grounding techniques for anxiety. For some clients, we might also use EMDR if your anxiety stems from past traumatic events or phobias – EMDR can rapidly reduce fear responses. EMDR is a powerful therapy backed by neuroscience. Read how EMDR works (EMDRIA) and why it’s effective for anxiety and trauma. We’ll go at your pace; you’ll never be pushed to do anything you’re not ready for.

FAQs

  • Anxiety can manifest as excessive worry, racing thoughts, restlessness, or trouble sleeping. Panic attacks often include sudden physical symptoms like heart palpitations, shortness of breath, dizziness, or a sense of doom. You might also feel disconnected from your body or reality. Even high-functioning individuals may experience these symptoms behind the scenes.

  • Therapy helps identify root causes of anxiety—even when it feels like it comes out of the blue. We explore triggers, nervous system responses, and unresolved stress or trauma. Through somatic work, mindfulness, and EMDR, you’ll learn how to respond to anxiety with regulation and clarity instead of fear.

  • Generalized anxiety involves chronic worry across many areas of life, while panic disorder is marked by sudden, intense episodes of fear or physical symptoms. Both can be overwhelming—but both are also highly treatable with a trauma-informed, body-based approach.

  • Yes—many clients find that with consistent therapy, panic attacks become less frequent or disappear altogether. We work with your body and mind to retrain your nervous system, release stored tension, and build real-world coping tools that help you feel in control again.

  • I use body-based tools like breathwork, self-holding, shaking, grounding, and vagus nerve stimulation. These methods help shift you out of fight/flight and into a calmer state. Learn more about how somatic therapy soothes anxiety [link to internal blog or resource].

  • Absolutely. EMDR helps reprocess the original experiences that taught your body to fear. Whether it’s a childhood memory or a recent high-stress event, EMDR reduces the emotional charge and allows your brain to heal. Read more about how EMDR works [link to EMDRIA or internal page].

  • Yes. You don’t need a formal diagnosis to seek support. If you feel stuck in stress, overwhelmed by fear, or like your body is constantly bracing—therapy can help you understand what’s going on and offer relief. Many of my clients describe it as finally exhaling.

  • Often, yes. Chronic anxiety is sometimes your body’s way of coping with unresolved emotional pain. We gently explore any past experiences that may still be affecting your present. Learn more about trauma-informed therapy [link to trauma page].

  • Definitely. High-functioning anxiety often goes unnoticed—but it’s very real. If you appear “put together” but feel constantly on edge, therapy helps you slow down, regulate, and relate to yourself with more compassion and less pressure.

  • Many clients begin to feel shifts within the first few sessions, especially when using somatic tools. Long-term healing depends on your goals, but therapy is a collaborative, paced process. We'll move at the speed of your nervous system, not a rushed timeline.
