Slow down to move forward with Chloë Bean Therapy

Licensed trauma therapist Chloe Bean working with couples and individuals to heal relationship patterns and foster deeper connection

You’re the one others rely on. The steady one. The high achiever who keeps things moving forward. But anxiety, trauma, and burnout don’t disappear just because you stay functional. Over time, they show up in your body, your relationships, and the quiet moments when everything finally slows down.

I’m Chloë Bean, LMFT, a somatic trauma therapist based in Los Angeles. I specialize in working with high-functioning adults, navigating anxiety, burnout, codependency, and the long-term effects of trauma and chronic stress.

Using a trauma-informed, body-based approach, I integrate EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic therapy to help you move out of survival mode and into greater regulation, connection, and emotional safety. Therapy here is paced with your nervous system, not your to-do list, so real change can happen without pushing harder.

If this resonates, you’re welcome to start with a consultation to see whether working together feels like the right next step.

Therapy for those who overfunction and overgive

When you’ve learned to stay strong, capable, and composed, your nervous system often never gets a chance to rest. Over time, this can lead to anxiety, burnout, relationship strain, and a persistent feeling of disconnection from yourself.

In therapy, we slow the pace down and work with what’s happening beneath the surface. Rather than pushing for insight or quick fixes, we focus on nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and the patterns that keep you stuck in survival mode.

This work is especially supportive for people who are highly responsible, deeply empathetic, and used to carrying more than their share—often without realizing how much it’s costing them.

Areas I Help With

Therapy support for the concerns that often show up beneath anxiety, burnout, and over-functioning.

Therapy to calm chronic anxiety, panic responses, and constant nervous system activation.

Healing people-pleasing, caretaking patterns, and relational over-responsibility.

Burnout Therapy

Support for emotional exhaustion, over-functioning, and loss of connection to self.

Somatic therapy support for body image distress and disordered eating patterns.

Helping couples rebuild safety, communication, and emotional connection.

How I Work

A body-based, trauma-informed approach grounded in nervous system care.

Somatic Experiencing©
Support for regulating the nervous system and reconnecting with safety in the body.

EMDR Therapy
Helping the nervous system process overwhelming experiences without reliving them.

IFS/ Parts Work
Supporting inner child healing, self-trust, and compassion toward all parts of you.

These approaches are integrated and paced to support lasting change without pushing your system faster than it can safely go.

We slow down. We reconnect. And we build something stronger than survival.

Does This Sound Familiar?

  • You appear successful and capable on the outside, but feel constantly anxious or on edge inside

  • You’re always giving, overthinking, or pushing through, even when you’re exhausted

  • You freeze, shut down, or disconnect when conflict or strong emotions arise

  • You crave real connection but don’t feel fully safe or settled in your relationships

  • You’ve tried talk therapy or self-help, yet something still feels stuck

What you’re experiencing isn’t a personal failure. It’s often a nervous system shaped by chronic stress, trauma, or years of needing to stay strong.

  • No. You do not need a formal diagnosis or a specific trauma story. Many people seek therapy because they feel chronically stressed, anxious, or disconnected, even if they can’t point to a single event.

  • Not necessarily. This work does not require retelling or reliving traumatic experiences. We move at a pace that feels safe and focus on what your system can tolerate, with choice and consent guiding the process.
