Somatic Trauma Intensives in California — A Deep but Contained Alternative to Weekly Therapy

Skip the waitlist. In a single focused session, do the kind of nervous-system trauma work that can take months of weekly therapy to reach — gently paced, fully personalized, and held start to finish by Chloë Bean, LMFT.

A step under a big retreat — and a step beyond weekly therapy

If you've been searching for something "a step under the Hoffman Process" — less overwhelming than a multi-day group immersion, but deeper than 50 minutes a week — you're in the right place. People often arrive here after asking Google or ChatGPT for exactly that: a one-on-one, trauma-informed intensive that goes deep without flooding you.

A Somatic Trauma Intensive is concentrated, private trauma therapy delivered in one extended 3-hour session (or a short package), instead of spread thinly across many weeks. There's no group, no stage, no sharing your story with a room. Just you, a clear focus, and a clinician trained to keep your nervous system safe the whole way through.

Think of it as a massage for the nervous system — slow, attuned, and restorative — except instead of releasing tension from muscle, we're gently releasing what your body has been holding since long before you had words for it.

Because intensives run on a separate track from her weekly therapy practice, they're often the fastest way to begin working with Chloë — no weekly waitlist required.

What a Somatic Trauma Intensive is

A Somatic Trauma Intensive is an extended, one-on-one therapy session built around one focused goal — a specific trauma, pattern, or stuck place you're ready to move through.

Rather than the slow, week-by-week pace of traditional therapy, an intensive gives you uninterrupted time to actually drop in, stay with the work, and let your system process — without the clock cutting you off right as something opens.

Each intensive is fully tailored. Chloë flexibly combines:

• EMDR — to reprocess specific traumatic memories

• Somatic Experiencing — to release trauma held in the body and restore nervous-system regulation

• IFS / parts work — to meet the protective parts of you (the perfectionist, the people-pleaser, the inner critic) with compassion instead of force

Nothing is locked to one modality. The plan is chosen to fit you — your history, your goals, and what your body can integrate in one sitting.

Who it's for

A strong fit if you're a high-achieving woman who is capable and composed on the outside, and anxious, overwhelmed, or self-critical underneath. This may be for you if you:

• Want to go deep on one thing — a trauma, a relationship pattern, a recurring panic response — rather than circle it slowly for months

• Are tired of anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, or painful relationship patterns and want focused momentum

• Are recovering from CPTSD, attachment trauma, toxic or narcissistic relationships, parentification, codependency, or people-pleasing

• Have a demanding schedule and would rather commit to concentrated time than fit weekly sessions around your calendar

• Have done some talk therapy and sense the next layer lives in the body, not just in insight

• Want a private, one-on-one experience — not a group retreat

Who it's not for

An intensive is not the right starting point if you're in acute crisis or need urgent stabilization, are looking for a single session to "solve" everything, or want open-ended talk therapy with no particular focus. If you're not sure, that's what the application and intake are for — Chloë will help you find the right fit.

How It Works

Format & availability — virtual-first

Virtual is the default, and it's just as effective as in person. Somatic and EMDR work translate beautifully to telehealth — you're in your own space, in your own body, often more regulated than you'd be in an unfamiliar office.

• Virtual 3-hour intensives: select Fridays, across California

• In-person: by arrangement only — West Los Angeles, space-dependent, higher fee

• A 5-hour option is coming later for those who want even more room

Pricing

Option 1 — 3-Hour Somatic Trauma Intensive — $1,275

• The 3-hour intensive

• 50-minute integration session afterward

Insurance & reimbursement: Intensives are an out-of-network service and aren't billed to insurance as an in-network benefit. Chloë provides superbills you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so check your out-of-network mental health benefits in advance.

How to Begin

3-Hour Half Day Virtual Therapy Intensive
The first step is a short application

The application helps Chloë understand what you're hoping to work on and confirm that an intensive is the right fit. Once she's reviewed it, she'll reach out to confirm fit and book your paid 50-minute intake & goal-setting session ($325) — the real beginning of your work together.

Testimonials
